Gazi Hospital Guide
A block and floor-based unit query and smart routing guide developed for Gazi University Faculty of Medicine Hospital.
About the Project
Gazi University Faculty of Medicine Hospital has a quite large and complex structure. At the request of a friend working at Gazi Medicine, I developed this guide application as a voluntary project to help patients, their relatives, and staff find the polyclinics or services they are looking for much more easily without getting lost in the hospital.
The application basically digitizes the hospital’s block and floor plans and offers the most practical physical guidance based on your current location.
Core Features
- Instant search by unit name, polyclinic, or keywords.
- Quick access to all floor plans of A, B, C, D, and E blocks.
- One-touch access to the most frequently searched locations such as Emergency Service, Blood Collection, and Radiology.
- “You are here” feature for dynamic guidance specific to your floor.
- Direct access to specific floor lists via QR codes on hospital posters using the phone’s camera.
- Offline-first infrastructure that works quickly even with weak internet connections.
Development Process
I started the process by establishing the data structure for the hospital plan. I designed a clean and simple mobile-first interface to ensure ease of use for people navigating the hospital’s corridors. After completing the search functionality, location-based filtering, and QR code integrations, I implemented performance optimizations to finalize the project.
